A Message from our founder

Thank you for visiting FARE International! We founded this organization because we believe that all people deserve to be healthy, have proper nutrition and drink clean water. I have dreamed of working in Global Health for as long as I can remember. The unnecessary suffering that so many families face in the developing world has always tugged at my heart. The idea for FARE International came to me after a trip to Kabale, Uganda in 2014. I spent two months with a wonderful local organization, Kigezi Healthcare Foundation (KIHEFO), who has worked for over 10 years to provide nutrition and healthcare to the people of Southwestern Uganda. On my first day at the KIHEFO Nutrition Rehabilitation Centre I met a three year old boy who was suffering from Severe Acute Malnutrition. He would not walk or talk because he was so sick. Over the course of the next three weeks of treatment I watched him flourish and begin walking, talking, playing and laughing! He was and will always be my inspiration.
